Greg Glandt started Glandt Roofing Company, a slate, tile and single-ply rubber roofing contract business in 1996. While he primarily works on older homes in Clayton, Ladue, University City and South Saint Louis, new construction is also important to his business success.
After many years of working for other roofing contractors, Glandt decided to start his own business. At the age of 32, he started Glandt Roofing Company with help of one employee.
In the first year, Glandt Roofing Company saw $240,000 in business. Business has boomed from the beginning, and keeps increasing, Glandt says.
Glandt says his secret to success is being responsive to his clientele and giving a fair price for services rendered. He stresses to his employees that only top-quality work is acceptable.
“If the work is not good enough for my house, it’s not good enough for my customers,” he says. Glandt plans to keep growing his business and hopes to move into commercial roofing eventually.
